Happy Spring {+Pretty Giveaway}

Happy First Day of Spring!!

You'd never know spring is upon us by stepping outside my front door {think grey skies, light sprinkles and a chilly breeze}.  Regardless of the elements, I am happy to welcome the new season and ready to flirt with pretty colors once again! Oranges, pinks, blues & greens - all of which my closet longs for, are upon us and my heart is oh so happy.

To celebrate, I thought I'd share a giveaway I noticed on my Instagram feed this morning.  31Bits is giving away one of my favorite bracelets - Poppet. Six strands of blues and greens woven together by beads handmade by women in Uganda. If you haven't heard of them, you must check them out - not only do they make beautiful jewelry, but they have an awesome story and your purchases are doing so much good for women and their families in Uganda.

To enter the giveaway, simply head to their website, and pin one of the photos of the Poppet bracelet and tag it with #FashionForGood. They will announce the winner this Friday, so happy pinning!

Hope you're enjoying a little taste of spring today.

XO

2013 Adventures!

Hi Friends,

So 2013 has many new things for us already!

Remember that little flood we had last fall?  Well, since then we've been on the hunt for a new place to call home here on the West Coast.  After much praying and much much searching, we've finally found our new apartment and we moved in over the weekend!  I can't wait to share photos with you once it's a little more unpacked and complete - until then here is a pic from my instagram.

Aside from the apt hunt, I've taken on some other things as well.  One of them being an opportunity to volunteer weekly at our local pregnancy center.  It's been such a different ministry for me to dive into, but one I'm excited to be part of.

AND if that's not enough, I'm exploring a new and exciting business venture!  {More on that later.}

With that said, we've been a bit busy over here and PinkPeonyStyle has been a little neglected *sad face*.  But with a pretty new apartment to decorate and a new design project for a client underway, I'm excited to share my fav design projects and inspirations with you over the next few months!

So tell me - has 2013 been full of change for you as well??

Looking forward to posting again soon!

XOXO

Whimsy & Delight

Today has been a whimsical day...a day of dreaming in white, pink & mint.

It must be the sunshine.

I'd love to be sitting on a patio in France, sipping a cappuccino and indulging in a homemade pastry.

Riding a bike along a cobble stone road in Italy.

Basking in the sun on a boat in St. Lucia.

Or even reading a novel on a roof top in Greece.

Oh the dreams are endless!

These photos beautifully capture my mood...

Home : Mirror, Mirror

No matter the size, shape, color or style - a mirror has a magical way of opening a space, drawing you in and capturing that essence of "something more."  Giving a beautiful and mystical illusion of life beyond the wall it hangs upon, a mirror can add so much to a space lacking luster and shine.

Be it nautical, shabby chic, traditional or modern - these mirrors bring these spaces to life.

Home : Color Dipping

Bold bright colors are EVERYWHERE this year and I LOVE it!  While color blocking has stormed the fashion world, color dipping is making it's impression on the home decor & DIY world.  A clean line of color can so easily {and affordably} bring an old piece to life again.  Take a look...

I may just have to color dip something this weekend. :)

Do you like the trend?  Have you color dipped anything in your home??  Would love to hear about it!

Don't forget to enter our giveaway!

Book Review {& Giveaway} : CelebraTORI by Tori Spelling

Until recently, I've been a closet Tori Spelling fan.  I promise, she and I would be bff's if we ever met.  While I don't agree with all of her beliefs and values, I so love how hands on she is with her family and I LOVE her creativity.  She is a self-made woman.  From weddings, party planning, book writing, to odd business ventures - I get her.  I understand her heartbeat for all things creative and I love that she's so excited to get her hands dirty, doing things DIY style.  {Tori, call me!}

Anyhow, I had a party to plan for my cousin's wedding and in my search for inspiration I picked up Tori's new book celebraTORI: Unleashing Your Inner Party Planner to Entertain Friends and Family - it was love at first sight.  Filled with personal tips from Tori, stories of parties past, recipes, ideas and beautiful photographs, this book is a party planning treasure.  Take a peek....

Aren't the photos just stunning?  I'll have to post photos of our Bachelorette Spa Party soon, until then, YOU have a chance to win a copy of celebraTORI: Unleashing Your Inner Party Planner to Entertain Friends and Family for yourself!
