Go Chic With Orange & Pink!

  This modern tabletop vignette of pure white and metallic gold is set against bold swaths of color. Isn't orange and pick a great design choice for art in a contemporary or modern space?

  A white living room is amped up with a melon-toned pink and brilliant orange. A traditional light fixture is turned into a modern pendant light with color. Long fringed shawls add a splash of orange to white slip-covered chairs.

  Sometimes we long for just a pop or two of color in a white space. Here, in a tabletop vignette that's done with three books, one each in hot pink, warm sand and bright orange. It's a great look.

  This amazingly colorful eclectic bedroom goes orange and pink with toile wallpaper in a Chinoiserie pattern. It makes for a wonderful background for the lovely mix of styles, patterns and colors in the space.

  A lovely pink hue adorns the walls of this contemporary bath. Pops of orange and melon work beautifully, but it would be so easy to change out the towels for an entirely new color scheme.

  A comfy neutral sectional gets wonderful splashes of pink, orange and golden yellow with a lovely array of decorative pillows.

  A wonderful custom-built white daybed with floral upholstered back is at once chic and comfortable. I love the use of several stylish orange and pink combinationsófloral, stripes and zigzags.

  This girl's bedroom is so pretty in pink and orange. Kids lamps like the one seen here are available right now in lots of popular colors. I love the branches and birds design. It even has a bird finial on top. How cool is the ladybug table?

Happy First Day of Spring!!

You'd never know spring is upon us by stepping outside my front door {think grey skies, light sprinkles and a chilly breeze}.  Regardless of the elements, I am happy to welcome the new season and ready to flirt with pretty colors once again! Oranges, pinks, blues & greens - all of which my closet longs for, are upon us and my heart is oh so happy.

To celebrate, I thought I'd share a giveaway I noticed on my Instagram feed this morning.  31Bits is giving away one of my favorite bracelets - Poppet. 2013 Adventures!

Hi Friends,

So 2013 has many new things for us already!

Remember that little flood we had last fall?  Well, since then we've been on the hunt for a new place to call home here on the West Coast.  After much praying and much much searching, we've finally found our new apartment and we moved in over the weekend!  I can't wait to share photos with you once it's a little more unpacked and complete - until then here is a pic from my instagram.

Aside from the apt hunt, I've taken on some other things as well.  One of them being an opportunity to volunteer weekly at our local pregnancy center.  It's been such a different ministry for me to dive into, but one I'm excited to be part of.

AND if that's not enough, I'm exploring a new and exciting business venture!  {More on that later.}

With that said, we've been a bit busy over here and PinkPeonyStyle has been a little neglected *sad face*.  But with a pretty new apartment to decorate and a new design project for a client underway, I'm excited to share my fav design projects and inspirations with you over the next few months!

Fashion Friday : The Power of the Tutu

Happy Friday Friends!

It's been an extra busy week but Friday has arrived and the weekend will be packed with fun!  Hubby, Blakely and I are on our way to Pismo Beach for the weekend to visit some of my favorite people in this world.

We plan to celebrate their soon-to-arrive precious little girl, Rylee.  Yes, a baby shower!

In honor of Rylee, I thought today's fashion segment would feature tutus!

I don't know what it is about a tutu, but for some reason, the moment a girl steps into one {no matter her age} her head is held a little higher, her stride is a little longer, her hips begin to sway and a smile reaches her face.  It doesn't get much more girly than that.

Maybe it's because tutus slightly resemble the shape and whimsy of a wedding gown, all cinderella-esque.  Or maybe it brings out the ballerina in us, poise and grace?  Whatever the case, no girl can deny that she's fallen completely in love with the feeling only a tutu can give.

While we can't be little girls forever, we can still have a little tutu in our lives.  Add a few extra inches of tulle and you're ready to twirl!  Check out these grown up tutus...

Fashion Friday : Luscious Lips

The weekend has arrived {well, it's pretty darn close} - and I'm oh so excited because my parents are driving {YES! I said driving - they're crazy, I know.} from Florida and should arrive sometime late Sunday.  

I couldn't be more thrilled {well, I would be a teensy more thrilled if my sister had made the trek with them, but she had to work}.  They'll be here exploring the Monterey coast with us for the next two weeks, so I have prepared several posts for your viewing pleasure, along with a few guest posts sprinkled here and there.  I truly hope you enjoy the line up and hope you enjoy meeting my precious friends!  I'll be back to respond to emails and comments after the 31st.  Until then I'm sure I'll be instagramming our time together if you'd like to follow along {@dcollyer}! :)

Okay - back to business.

Today we're talking about those luscious lips!  

My hubby isn't much of a fan of the all famous lipstick.  Mostly because he doesn't like walking away with a layer of goop after a kiss. ;)  So I'm more of a tinted balm/chapstick sort of girl, but I do love me some red or pink lips every now and then.  Lets face it - it just makes a girl feel more glamourous!  Am I right?

Fashion Friday : Clutch & Run!

So it's still sumer {in case you haven't noticed}.  Sure, all of the "back-to-school" campaigns would like us to believe that summer is over and fall is here, but I'm still sporting my bright summer colors, stripes & sandals.

To continue celebrating summer, I've collected a few of my favorite clutches!  Perfect for day or night, these trendy little, light weight and versatile pouches can add pizzaz to any outfit!

Ranging from $12.00 - $200.00, surely you can find one to fit any budget.  I just love #1 & #2, they just scream summer - isn't that anchor adorable?  And the woven chevron print, what a great summer touch.  I think #4 would be great for evening.  I actually own #3 and love it.  {I get compliments every time I leave the house with it.}

Fashion Friday : Necklines that Shine

I've never been one for gaudy necklaces, but recently the bold colorful jewels that are gracing necklines have caught my eye {in a much more appealing way}.  I love the pop of color, the feminine designs and the chunky shapes.  From $18 - $200, you'll find something to fit any budget.  Go ahead - dress up that simple white button up, a plain tee or that dress that's just missing something!

Whimsy & Delight

Today has been a whimsical day...a day of dreaming in white, pink & mint.  

It must be the sunshine.  

I'd love to be sitting on a patio in France, sipping a cappuccino and indulging in a homemade pastry.  

Riding a bike along a cobble stone road in Italy.  

Basking in the sun on a boat in St. Lucia.

Or even reading a novel on a roof top in Greece.  

Oh the dreams are endless!
