Hello, everyone!

It's a wonderful place to find lots of interior design inspiration including decorating ideas for everything from fabulous foyer lights to colorful home accessories and much more. Today we're going to have fun exploring some of the many possibilities of decorating with a lively color, brilliant orange and pink.  Please enjoy!
Danya, thanks for letting me stop by to share. ~ Mari

  This modern tabletop vignette of pure white and metallic gold is set against bold swaths of color. Isn't orange and pick a great design choice for art in a contemporary or modern space?

  A white living room is amped up with a melon-toned pink and brilliant orange. A traditional light fixture is turned into a modern pendant light with color. Long fringed shawls add a splash of orange to white slip-covered chairs.

  Sometimes we long for just a pop or two of color in a white space. Here, in a tabletop vignette that's done with three books, one each in hot pink, warm sand and bright orange. It's a great look.

  This amazingly colorful eclectic bedroom goes orange and pink with toile wallpaper in a Chinoiserie pattern. It makes for a wonderful background for the lovely mix of styles, patterns and colors in the space.

  A lovely pink hue adorns the walls of this contemporary bath. Pops of orange and melon work beautifully, but it would be so easy to change out the towels for an entirely new color scheme.

  A comfy neutral sectional gets wonderful splashes of pink, orange and golden yellow with a lovely array of decorative pillows.

  A wonderful custom-built white daybed with floral upholstered back is at once chic and comfortable. I love the use of several stylish orange and pink combinationsófloral, stripes and zigzags.

  This girl's bedroom is so pretty in pink and orange. Kids lamps like the one seen here are available right now in lots of popular colors. I love the branches and birds design. It even has a bird finial on top. How cool is the ladybug table?

Decor : Layering

I don't know about you, but I'm totally loving natural blonde/grey colored woods - especially in the dining room.  These neutral woods make for such a perfect background to display multiple textures and colors.

Layering a room is so important - curtains, rugs, chairs, wall colors, accent pieces, lighting - when all of these elements are well thought through and nicely assembled, a room can fully come to life.

These dining rooms are a perfect example of layering.  The largest pieces {the dining table} and the walls are neutral, while the fabrics and accessories are colorful and the lighting eye-catching.

What do you think?  Are you a fan of layering, or do the rooms in your home just "happen"?

I have a great line up of posts to share next week and a beautiful guest post from Arcadian Home, so be sure to check back soon.

Also, I would like to introduce you to my newest partner Amy from Amy Grace.  She likes to blog about her favorite makeup products and life events.

Happy Memorial Weekend Friends!
Enjoy your time off ~

XOXO

Home : Luxurious Laundry

I have a love/hate relationship with laundry.

I love the feeling of fresh, clean laundry neatly tucked away in it's proper place.  I love knowing that my staples are clean, my closet is complete and stocked with essentials for the week ahead.

On the flip side, I strongly dislike the overwhelming pile of dirty laundry that quickly overflows from our laundry basket, overtaking precious floor space in the bedroom and glaring at me each time I pass by.  I also have negative feelings towards the hike I have to take in order to clean it.  It's a job - hauling loads of heavy jeans, damp towels and sweaters up two hills, down the stairs and into the slippery laundry room {it shares space with the complex's indoor pool}!!  Laundry is already a menial task - who wants to work for it?  {Not me.}

Regardless of my feelings and emotions towards my current laundry situation, I will say that I'm guilty of drooling over beautiful photos of well kept, beautifully organized and boldly colored laundry spaces.  Laundry rooms can be so luxurious these days!

One day I'll own a home and beautify the laundry quarters, until then here are a few photos of inspiration....

Dress Those Walls!

I've been searching high and low to find the perfect solution to my very beige and very naked living room.  I'm certainly NOT a beige person.  The room was beige when we moved in and somehow us newlyweds acquired a beige couch and a large beige area rug to complete the ensemble.  While we were (and still are) very grateful to receive the furniture that makes up our living room, I simply cannot handle the beige.  "So, paint the room," you may say.  I wish it were that simple.  We don't own the house and we're not sure how long we plan to be in the house, so painting doesn't seem like the most practical of solutions at the moment.  Anyhow, in my search for inspiration, I've found a few neat photos I thought I'd share.  What have YOU done with your "naked beige room"?  I know everyone has (or has had) a bland room - I'd love to hear what you've done or plan to do with yours!  Happy dressing the walls!

{This one's my fav}
