Home : Mirror, Mirror

No matter the size, shape, color or style - a mirror has a magical way of opening a space, drawing you in and capturing that essence of "something more."  Giving a beautiful and mystical illusion of life beyond the wall it hangs upon, a mirror can add so much to a space lacking luster and shine.

Be it nautical, shabby chic, traditional or modern - these mirrors bring these spaces to life.

Who doesn't love a nook?

I'm talking about those cozy little reading spaces, not the electronic book devices.  I've been looking for inspiration for a reading nook of my own.  We have this cute little space in our living room that would be perfect, only right now its the home of a spare breakfast table.  Yes, we use the table, but our dining room isn't formal, so we could easily make do without it.  The space I'm thinking of transforming has a cutout window extending about 2 feet beyond the living room walls and a little light above.  I'm telling you, it's perfect.  I'm imaging a space that does double duty - a bench with storage that's buried beneath several plush pillows & a cute light fixture to hang above.  You see it too??  Okay, good....glad we're on the same page.  On that note here a few photos of lovely reading spaces.

{This is what I'm thinking...something similar.}

Do you have a reading space??  If so, what do you love about it most?

Anthropologie Lust

I have yet to come across someone who doesn't just LOVE Anthropologie.  I don't know about you, but I can't help but be overwhelmed with inspiration the moment I step foot into one of their stores - something about it is just so creative and organic, comforting and welcoming, functional yet beautiful all the same time.  My dream job would be to travel the world and find the pieces that grace their window displays and catalog shoots.  I once read an article (I believe it was in Elle Decor Magazine) about the man who does just that - he literally gets paid to travel the most unique and exotic places throughout the world in search of those one-of-a-kind pieces that their store is brimming with.  What a job!

Here are a few of my favorite outfits, accessories, & furnishings from their March 2011 online catalog.  Hope this inspires you today as much as it did me!

Wallpaper Love

I used to think of wallpaper as a thing of the past (my first thought was musty, old floral prints from my grandma's dining room), but I've recently fallen in love with these chic patterns.  Let's just say it's come a long way since I was a kid....
