Who's That Girl?

Meet Julianna Morlet, The Girl That Sings.

I discovered Julianna's blog late last year and have since enjoyed her honesty, her creativity, her rants & rambles - but most importantly her heart.

From struggles of infertility to sharing her bagel with a homeless kid - nothing is off limits. I'm sure you'll find Julianna's frankness refreshing, and totally relatable.

She and I also share a love for music {singing to be specific}.  Head over to hear blog and dive in - I'm sure you'll find something you can relate to!

Happy Wednesday...

XO

Who's That Girl?

Good morning sweet friends!

Today I'd like to introduce you to Darling Magazine.

So I know Darling isn't exactly one girl, but it's a group of women who have pulled their talents together and have created a beautiful magazine full of three months worth of encouraging articles, beautiful photographs, recipes, wisdom and advice, beauty, and inspiring stories.

They've just released their very first issue.  Take a peek.

Isn't it beautiful?  I wish all magazines looked this way!

They're excited to bring a clean, easy-to-read, and less cluttered layout to their readers.  And have also allowed it to be purchased digitally if you'd like to view it that way.

But that's not all.  You can find encouraging articles on their website, updated several times a week.

I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.  Hope you'll check them out!

Happy Wednesday!

XO

Who's That Girl?

It's no secret that the blogging world is just exploding with talented women worth following.  And I admit, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide who's worth your time.  So I thought it would be fun to shine the PPS spotlight on one of those noteworthy women on a weekly basis.

Welcome to Who's That Girl?

--

Love Etsy, Anthropologie, healthy living & blogs??  Then you need to meet Bonnie Christine from Going Home To Roost.

A friend of mine introduced me to Bonnie's blog and I fell in love with one simple click.  She has a knack for all things pretty, simple, and domestic.

You'll find beautiful patterns & textiles, healthy and fresh {vegan} recipes, great diy projects, and even honest advice on growing your blog or online business!

{The cherry on top - she gives away printables & desktop backgrounds as freebies on a monthly basis!}

And that's not all {I know, this girl has it goin' on!} - my favorite part of Going Home To Roost is the brand new super-dee-duper Roost Tribe!  Roost Tribe is a $5/month subscription service to all things Bonnie Christine.

As a Tribe member, you'll receive :

Amazing right??  I think it's worth every penny.  But tribe member or not, Bonnie's blog is beautiful and I'm sure you'll be inspired by her!

You're welcome.  :)

Mango Black Bean Salsa

A few years ago, my friend Sharon shared this fabulous Mango Black Bean Salsa recipe with me and it's been a staple on my spring table ever since.  {I'm not going to lie - I forgo the chips and dive in with a spoon, every once in a while.}  I've made adjustments here and there, but it's a pretty fool proof recipe - one you're sure to wow a crowd with!  Hope you enjoy!

Mango Black Bean Salsa
You'll need :

- 2 Ripe Mangos, diced into bite sized chunks
- 1 Red Bell Pepper, diced into small pieces
- 1 Jalapeno, diced into small pieces {optional - use less if you don't like it spicy}
- 2 T Cilantro, chopped
- 1 Can Black Beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 Can Sweet Yellow Corn, drained
- 1 Juicy Lemon
- 1-2 t Olive Oil
- 1/2 t Paprika
- Salt & Pepper, to taste

  1. After preparing all of your chopped and diced ingredients, combine mango, pepper, jalapeno, beans and corn in a large bowl.
  2. Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice over top and toss.
  3. Add cilantro, salt, pepper and paprika.  Toss again. {I add more salt, lemon juice and paprika as I see needed.}
  4. Put into an airtight container and let refrigerate at least one hour prior to serving.
  5. Enjoy with your favorite {gluten free} corn chips!

I love that this recipe is so colorful and so fresh!  And the best part about it is, it gets better with age.  {Not moldy kind of age, ha!  I promise, it won't have time to mold once you serve it.}  It's a great day-before recipe, the flavors meld the longer they refrigerate.

Are you a salsa person?  If so, what's your go to summer salsa recipe??

Lots of love...
