Happy Thanksgiving...Let the Holidays begin!

Hi Sweet Friends,

I hope you had a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING and hope you're enjoying lots of quality time with loved ones and left overs.

It's been such a busy month {hence the neglected blog posts}.  From our 3 week flooded apartment fiasco, to celebrating 3 years of marriage with my handsome groom, traveling to SoCal for a week long worship leader's conference to preparing for and hosting Thanksgiving.  A whirlwind, I tell you!

Here's a little peek of the past month...

I've so missed blogging, and look forward to pulling together some of my favorite Christmas decor ideas and recipes...happy shopping this weekend.  Be safe!

Cozy Knits

Knits are just cozy - there's no other way to describe yarn woven into perfection.  Who doesn't love it?

My love for yarn + diy manifests itself in crocheted creations.  It's a vicious cycle, I must admit.

You see...around this time of year I get the itch to pick up my crochet needles again.  And every year I get a little more gutsy, trying my hand at something more difficult than the year previous {last year it was oversized cowls and coffee cup cozies, this year I'm thinking headbands and boot socks}.

But it doesn't stop there - once I conquer my challenge, I usually think..."hmm, this would make a fabulous Christmas gift," or the unavoidable {if you're me}, "I could sell these!"  The latter thought launches me into a crocheting frenzy, every spare moment, leading up to Christmas, spent crocheting till my little fingers are numb and my eyes are crossed, and with the last stitch I swear off crocheting "forever."  {aka - next year}

Needless to say - I'm feeling the itch again.  Once I have a free moment, you can bet I'll be headed to my local yarn shop to swoon over my next knit project.

Until then, check out these handmade beauties...{any of these would make perfect Christmas gifts for those who like to shop early!}

While I just adore all of the above, I have to say #2 is one of my absolute favorites!  {And she's offering a 50% discount on anything in her store if you like her on fb...click the #2 link to learn more.}  Maybe I'll attempt a bow scarf this year as well - why not??

Are you loving knits this season??

Handmade Stationery

I truly believe that handwritten notes are a lost art.

As a kid I remember racing to the end of the driveway to excitedly collect the mail.  Combing through catalogues, bills and magazines, I had high hopes that something was for me.  On the rare occasion something actually donned my name on front {usually around my birthday}, my heart was overjoyed -  it was a special day.

I still feel much like that disheveled child with the raspy voice, sun bleached hair and scrawny legs when I receive something handwritten with my name on it.  It's almost more exciting now than it was back then, because rarely does anything lovely emerge from the cluster of bills that exits my mailbox.

It's so easy to make someone feel special, so I've decided to make an effort to regularly send handwritten letters to the precious people in my life.  To personalize it, I've been on the hunt for pretty paper.

Check out a few of my favorite finds....

Are you in the habit of sending notes?  Do you have a favorite stationary or paper you use?

Who's That Girl?

It's no secret that the blogging world is just exploding with talented women worth following.  And I admit, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to decide who's worth your time.  So I thought it would be fun to shine the PPS spotlight on one of those noteworthy women on a weekly basis.

Welcome to Who's That Girl?

Fashion Friday : Ring, Ring

I'm a girl who loves details.  Details can so easily be overlooked, but when done well, can make such a big impact.

Today's fashion spotlight shines on the {sometimes over looked} finger.  Rings!  A ring, whether it be just one great big fashion statement, or several smaller layered upon each other, has the potential to bring completion to an outfit.  With etsy and other handmade websites, it's easy to come away with an affordable, one-of-a-kind piece that makes you swoon.

What's your take on rings?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  I'm off to a retreat with some beautiful ladies.  See you Monday!

Lots of love...

Decorating With Wooden Pallets

I was out and about running errands yesterday afternoon and while crossing the bridge, I saw a large truck carrying a major load of wooden pallets.  For a solid minute, I debated flagging the man down and asking if he'd like to share his pallets - ha!  Don't worry, I didn't do it....but I was certainly tempted.  I've seen so many cool diy projects consisting of minimal hardware, paint and pallets - so simple!  From bed frames to headboards, coffee tables to book shelves, I'll share a few of my favorites.  Have you done anything with pallets?  If so, I'd love to see/hear about it.  Also, don't forget to enter our giveaway - contest ends Thursday at midnight.  Enjoy!
