Pure Delight

Happy Friday Friends!

Goodness.  Is it Friday already??  It's taking me a while to get used to our new schedule here.  Thursday was our Friday, prior to hubby's new job [off Fri & Sat, work Sun], but now he has a split weekend.  Off Sat, work Sun, off Mon.  Weird huh??  At home, Monday was my day off from teaching [unless I had make up lessons], and my day to prep for the week while hubby was back to work.  NOW I don't know what to do.  Monday arrives and I have the itch to do my house cleaning, meal planning, grocery shopping and week planning but he's home and looking forward to spending time with me - oh I'm just all confused!

People ask me all the time, "so are you going to find a 'job' now that you're settled?"  To which I respond, "Girlfriend, if you only KNEW what I do all day!"  Ha!  Just kidding.  I usually have some vague response, like, "Oh you know, I used to teach, and I'm not sure I want to start that this late in the year."  Or, "I don't have anywhere to teach right now, so I'm taking a little break till I figure things out."  It's a strange place to be in - hubby has a TON of purpose right now and I'm...well, I'm still "figuring things out." [Hence the time for daily blog posting & photo editing.]  I do have a few side projects [as I always do] that will carry me through Easter and then it's back to the drawing board.

It's been such a fresh season.  Starting over, getting to know new places and beautiful new faces, making a home out of our little apartment, but after two months [yes, tomorrow marks TWO whole months - crazy huh?], I'm ready to find purpose here.  It goes against everything within me to not have a purpose or a plan.  I admit, when we discovered an Anthropologie practically in our backyard, I thought surely my calling was to be a fashionable employee [purely for the discount - oops!] at the glorious home goods/beauty haven - but I was wrong.  I came to my senses and realized I would be terribly bored with the schedule and would find it difficult to work for someone else.  For a girl like me, owning my own business gave me a [dangerous] taste of freedom - something I learned I don't want to give up unless I absolutely HAVE to [and even then, I'm not sure I could do it].  So here I sit, aware of the fact that I was made for more than house cleaning and meal planning [not that there's anything wrong with that]; meanwhile, an intense passion for writing, designing, social events, melodies & beautiful things is brewing within me.  What's a dreamin' girl to do?  Scheme.  Dream.  Plan.  Dream.  Research.  Dream.  And most importantly delight.

So there you have it, these are the things stirring in my heart as of late.  I'm very much clinging to Psalms 37:4 and I'm oh so excited to see what God has in the seasons ahead!

Happy weekend!  xoxo
